The Rio Diaries – Brazil Baby

One of my extreme passions is to travel. I have crazy wild dreams to see the world. There really are not too many places that I do not want to go.

Unfortunately, I am not rich, so I am forced to refer to mysef as an “infrequent traveller”. Not that I am complaining – I have been fortunate enough to travel to places of majesty like Machu Pichu and Galapagos Islands.

I decided to take the plunge and book my next destination – Brazil baby! (Thank you Aeroplan points!)  I will be flying solo like the lone traveller I am, spending approximately 10 days in Rio De Janeiro.

I booked the flight and now need to book the tour – most likely through GAP Adventures. Definitely on the list are a visit to the Christ the Redeemer statue, cable car up Sugar Loaf mountain, hitting the beaches, shopping, and possibly a visit to Iguassu Falls which will also allow me a brief foray into Argentina. The Amazon is also in consideration but since I am terrified of all insects and rodents, it is most likely going to be cut from my list of things to do.

I am so excited and happy. Also, grateful to be able to do something so incredible. I am nervous about going by myself but I did it before and I’ll do it again.

The trip will not come without ‘hard work’. I plan to become very economical, go on a strict diet, and enroll in a boot camp or join the gym so I can complete with the Brazilian girls in thongs at the beaches.
