Capture The Color – Edition.

Capture The Color - Yellow

Every so often, a project sweeps its way through the travel blogging world (like My 7 Links, the ABC’s of Travel and Inspire Travel) and has us “tagging” each other like mad men (and women). This time it’s the Capture The Color contest where travel bloggers feature five of their favorite photos from across a color spectrum of Blue, Green, Red, White and Yellow.

Thanks to Mariana from My Travel Thirst for tagging me!

Blue – Spending a weekend in Budapest, I stayed a night at the rather lovely Four Seasons Gresham Palace. My room with a view of the Danube offered up this rather magical moment. As dusk settled over the Hungarian capital, the stunning blue sky and dramatic clouds had the ever romantic me weeping tears of joy and snapping photo after photo.

Green Getting wild with other travel bloggers in Umbria, I took a cold, windy donkey ride through Monti Sibillini National Park. While the landscape seemed quite barren and lonely at times, there was enough lush, green grass on hand for my adorable donkey Daphne to stop and grab a bite to eat.

Red – After moving to Berlin, I adopted Tous Les Jours as my second home. I’ve spent hours on end in this cute little cafe writing blog posts and eating slices of their delicious cherry pie. I love how even when the cold autumn weather arrived in November that seats with red cushions and blankets were placed outside.

White – Visting Krakow gave me a chance to visit the New Jewish Cemetery on a cold winter’s day just as the sun was setting. Feeling the heavy weight of the rather tragic history and meeting a man who found his grandfather’s grave after years of searching made for one touching experience. Somehow the blanket of white snow that covered the ground made it all the more poignant.

Yellow – I stumbled upon this Monarch butterfly while on a walk through the Black Forest in Southern Germany. I usually detest insects but can tolerate butterflies from a distance because they’re so very pretty. I happily managed to get the shot of the Monarch feeding off of the yellow flower before it gently fluttered away.

Well, I’m going to nominate the usual suspects – good friends Adam from Travels of Adam and Nicole from Nicole is the New Black.

Other nominees? Some other great travel bloggers (all of whom I’ve met in person and can attest to the fact they’re totally awesome) – John and Andrea of Inspiring Travellers and Andrea from Destination Europe.
