Instagramming My November in Toronto.

Street Art Along the Esplanade Toronto

November was a bittersweet month. It would be my last month in Toronto as I was working towards a highly anticipated return to my beloved Berlin.

The month was filled with taking care of move related details, tackling paperwork for my German visa, quitting my job, getting rid of everything I owned and bidding a fond farewell to friends. It was simultaneously stressful, busy, fun and exciting.

Instagramming My November in Toronto

As I was moving to Berlin, I wanted to spend as much time as possible experiencing the goodness of my neighbourhood.

I hung out at St Lawrence Market (pea meal bacon sandwich, coffee from Balzacs anyone?), walked through the Distillery District and soaked up the bright, vibrant colours of fall.

St Lawrence Market Toronto

Working from home one day, I snuck over to St Lawrence Market to grab a veal sandwich for lunch. Walking around, I was once again struck by the beauty of my neighbourhood. I actually used to live at the Market Wharf condos, located in the tall modern looking high-rise you see on the left.

Brookfield Place at Christmas Toronto

Brookfield Place is one of my favourite spots in Toronto. It’s especially stunning at Christmas when decorated with thousands of sparkling lights.

This mural along the Esplanade, is part of a local community artwork project which several artists contributed to this past summer. It’s now a neighbourhood highlight!

Distillery District Toronto Christmas Market

The Distillery District is another one of my favourite spots. I walked through the area during my last free day in Toronto, sampled some local delights and got excited for the Christmas markets in Berlin.

Speaking of Berlin, I’ve now been here for about two whole weeks and so far it’s been great! I felt immediately at home and it’s almost as if I never left.

Stay tuned, as I’ll talk more about life in Berlin next month when I begin my Instragramming Berlin series once again.
