The Rio Diaries – It’s Almost Here

Escaped the frenzy of my work life today to get a couple of more items accomplished for my trip.

First, I went to pick up my Visa from the Brazilian Consulate. Low and behold, it was approved! Valid for 5 years, I am now allowed to take vacations in Brazil for up to 90 days at a time. Just what I needed – an excuse to go back and visit once more. Ha ha.

Second, I went to Chapters so get the Lonely Planet, Brazilian Portugese phrasebook. Not only will I now be able to ask where the bathroom is or how much something costs, I will be able to romance men, tell them to kiss me and that they’re tigers in bed. I’ll even be able to tell women I think they’re bitches. Because of course, that’s what I’ll be doing. 🙂

I even downloaded some Portugese and Spanish speaking lessons from iTunes. Hopefully between the books and the podcasts, I will be able to learn enough of the language to get around without too much difficulty.
