Instagramming … Toronto’s East Lakeshore.

Typically my Instagram posts involve much more exotic far-flung destinations than Toronto. Past features have included Lisbon, Budapest and even Germany’s Black Forest.

Unbelievably, I’ve been home for 6 months now without any time off from work and no travel. Unless you count my weekend away to Ottawa?

So with no new and cool places to photograph, I’ve found myself limited to taking pictures of Toronto’s tall buildings and sunrises during my morning commute to work in Mississauga.

Looking for some inspiration over Easter weekend, I headed down to Toronto’s East Lakeshore and took a bike ride to Cherry Beach and later Sugar Beach.

It all started out with an iconic view of my hometown’s skyline and Lake Ontario.

Then some snaps of boats mixed with the industrial blight along the waterfront.

Next was Sugar Beach, where industry has actually done something to make the waterfront a little nicer. You’ll notice the Red Path Sugar Factory in the next couple of photos.

Sitting on one of the beach chairs, I pretended I was somewhere warmer for a while. You can see that some cute ladies were enjoying the warmth of spring!

Before heading home, I took a walk along the promenade.

It was a great way to rediscover the beauty of my home town. It might not be Europe but there are some really pretty spots like these two beach areas. Can’t wait for summer!
