My Top 10 Instagram Photos of 2015. Now that I’m back in Europe again, living out my Berlin expat dream once more, I’ve had quite the year travelling about the continent and spending time in my newly adopted home. As such, my Instagram account finally got more interesting.
To wrap up the year, I’m jumping on the old travel blogging bandwagon and doing one of those “year in review” posts, which may or may not be vomit inducing to anyone reading. If you feel bile piling up in your mouth right now, I’m sorry!
So here’s my top 10 Instagram photos of 2015, which will carry you to Prague, Görlitz, Berlin, Toronto, and Szczecin.
My Top 10 Instagram Photos of 2015
Let the countdown begin:
10) A Postcard from Prague
Last June, I visited Prague for the weekend, one of my very favourite European cities.
The city holds special meaning for me, as it was while walking along the Charles Bridge one night in 2010, that I decided to make the move to Europe, once and for all. Less than six months later, I moved to Berlin.
Prague is best experienced by foot and I spent the greater part of my weekend wandering the city streets. It seemed that every time I turned a corner, there’d be another fairytale view to gasp and squeal at, another weird oddity to observe, or another building facade to swoon at.
This snap made it into my top 10 Instagram photos of 2015. Coming in at number 10, is a typical Prague street scene, with the spires of St Vitus Cathedral off into the distance.

9) Scenes from Görlitz
At the end of the summer, I decided to spontaneously take a daytrip to one of Germany’s most picturesque cities, Görlitz. Famed for being the setting for films like Grand Budapest Hotel, Inglourious Basterds, and Around the World in 80 Days, Görlitz is nothing less than spectacular.
Number nine of my top 10 Instagram photos of 2015, is this sunset photo I took when strolling back to the main train station to return to Berlin.
8) Prost from a Rooftop in Berlin
Many of my most popular Instagram photos from 2015, are not actually from my travels, but from photos taken around my home, Berlin.
I’m lucky to have friends with stunning rooftop views over the city and this photo of Berlin at sunset was my eighth my popular photo of 2015.

7) Walking into that Berlin Light
In keeping on with the Berlin theme across my top 10 Instagram photos of 2015, this photo of a man walking into the bright sunshine one late afternoon, was my seventh most liked photo.
6) Street Art Mural in Friedrichshain
Hunting down street art has always been a passion of mine. I spied this street art mural by Alice Pasquini in Friedrichshain one day, while walking around town with friends.

5) A Snow Covered Berlin
We’re back to Berlin, with my fifth most popular instagram photo of 2015. Last winter was pretty warm and we didn’t see much snow, unlike my cold Canadian home of Toronto.
But one morning, I woke up and discovered that the city was covered in the sparkly white powder. It was almost as if Berlin was transformed into a surreal landscape worthy of a snow globe.

4) Flat Iron Building in Toronto
I headed home to Toronto in September to see loved ones and bring my cat Izzy, home to Berlin with me.
One of my trip highlights was hanging out in my old hood of St. Lawrence Market and admiring the ever pretty, Flat Iron building.

3) Berlin Snowpocalypse
Coming in at number three of my top 10 Instagram photos of 2015, is another snow filled scene from Berlin.
2) The Szczecin Philharmonic
When I asked a friend if he wanted to go to Poland for the day to eat pierogies and beer, he enthusiastically responded with a YES.
And so we were off to one of my favourite Polish cities, Szczecin. During our city explorations, we came across the newly built philharmonic building and boy, is it a stunner.
Meet my bestie, Adam, the star of this photo.
1) Winter Wonderland in Berlin
Drum roll, please. Number one of my top 10 Instagram photos of 2015 is … another snow-filled Berlin photo.
